METHOD OF ACTION
It is believed that sulbutiamine works similarly to thiamine however the effects are greatly enhanced. Thiamine is essential in the body and even more essential for cognitive function because it is used in the biosynthesis of acetylcholine and GABA. sulbutiamine is believed to have effects on the cholinergic, glutamatergic and dopamine systems which result in its nootropic benefits.

Thiamine is inferior to sulbutimaine in its absorption rate. It is absorbed through the intestines at a poor rate that is often reduced by hindrances like folic deficiency. Having higher concentrations of Thiamine in the digestive tract will also reduce this absorption rate even further. Sulbutiamine is much more lipophilic and is able to dissolve in fats. This not only gives it a better absorption rate but more importantly, increases blood brain barrier efficiency.

SULBUTIAMINE BENEFITS
Sulbutiamine has long been used as an over-the-counter nootropic. Certain studies have pointed it to improving memory function. This is likely due to its influence on acetylcholine and glutamate activity. Influence of D1 dopamine receptor function may also aid in added cognitive benefits.

Sulbutiamine seems to have a mild stimulant effects in some. Many athletes were using it as a legal performance enhancer in sports and it is quite popular in these communities. Sulbutimaine does not seem to affect the other catecholamines other than dopamine so it does not have a tendency to trigger your typical amphetamine-stimulant side effects.

MOOD
Sulbutiamine seems to have some powerful anti-depressant effects. This may be due to the effects subutiamine has on Dopamine and the D1 receptors. Reports of sulbutiamine and its effects on mood are incredibly common. It can act as a very powerful anti -depressant for short periods of time. These effects commonly recede after recurrent use so sulbutiamine shouldn’t be used primarily as an anti-depressant.

SUBUTIAMINE SIDE EFFECTS
Sulbutiamine has few side effects and is generally well-tolerated however there are still some things to be mindful of. The most common reported side effects are anxiety and irritability. These side effects are more likely to appear in higher than normal doses. Sulbutiamine also seems to promote depression/anxiety in some. If this does occur it is highly recommended to discontinue use. Below is a list of some reported sulbutiamine side-effects.

Anxiety
Irritability
Depression
Headaches
Nausea
Skin Rash
TOLERANCE/WITHDRAWAL

Sulbutiamine has a history of causing tolerance build-up fairly quickly. This is more common to see with the mood boosting and energizing effects of sulbutiamine but some see nootropic actions diminish as well. For this reason, it is great as a “stacked” or “as needed” supplement.

Sulbutiamine does not seem to be addictive however there was one report of an alleged addiction. It does not seem to be an item that is much risk to cause addiction because it is not a psychoactive compound.

SULBUTIAMINE STACKS

Sulbutiamine is great to stack with racetams. It does not seem to potentiate the effects of racetams but may accent a stack quite nicely by bringing in its own unique properties. In advanced nootropic users, sulbutiamine is a common member in a stack that may be used on and off with the other members.

Sulbutiamine is unique and can accent other nootropics quite well. A great synergistic combination is said to be with pyritinol. This is said to be a great nootropic stack that is not too common. All in all, sulbutiamine is great to stack if you like it. Always try sulbutiamine before using it in a stack to assess your sensitivity and tolerance to the substance.
